Acer Computerscreated on: Wed 30 Sep 2009 @ 10:41 Another sample from the pile of soon to be showcased projects is Acer Computers advertorial for Windows Now Magazine. Acer had 24 page special supplement insert in September issue graced by the trademark Brand Nu 'colourful shapeness' telling stories of user experience. Co-art directed by Steve Gotobed from Future Publishing, I've taken the slightly 'ajar' brief into the stage where all three parties were very happy with the final illustrations.
IFTA / Dreamstarcreated on: Tue 29 Sep 2009 @ 10:37 The first phase in one of my favourite projects of this year is nearly done, with the last mural going up this week, ready for launch next week. Til the interior shots come over, enjoy a little preview from the outside. This project will be running for some time with new work cropping up on regular basis throughout 2010.
Nocturnal - Event Promoscreated on: Wed 23 Sep 2009 @ 15:47 I get asked by students and designers wanting to get into the industry how to break the ice and get commissions flooding in. Flyer design work could be a great way not only to experiment and learn basics of litho-print but also to push ideas that would not always make it past the boys in suits around the Coca Cola board room. Don't expect the big guns knockin on your door as soon as you install a copy of Photoshop on you Mac. Start slower and give it a bit of a thought!
Anyways, Brand Nu and Nocturnal go a long way back. In fact, we go back 5 years since I've designed their first ever the Unabombers flyer. The boys have been busy with putting on parties with some big names (Jazzanova, Alice Russell, Ashley Beedle and the list goes on) seeing them going from strength to strength. I've enjoyed a massive creative freedom and loved it every time.
So, in between the projects that take a little bit longer to finish, I did a little different promo for Nocturnal's upcoming shindigs. To find out more information see their website at www.nocturnal-music.co.uk (from the Brand Nu lab!)
Mary Anne Hobbs - Wild Angelscreated on: Mon 21 Sep 2009 @ 10:47 Normally, I just rattle about my own work; recent, on the burner or the future stuff and leave all the music pointers for the world of 140 characters on Twitter. However, exceptions should be made and for the very right reasons too.
Mary Anne Hobbs has put together a compilation that oozes perfection from every angle. Wild Angels is packed with wobbly loveliness from dark and weird to simple and kind. Don't expect too many dancefloor friendlies, this is music for the headphones, open spaces and freaking out your grandparents. Not sure who did the artwork (can't tell from MP3 release) but it's stunning! Go get it now!
Review from BBC Music tells it all.
Magazine features / interviewscreated on: Fri 11 Sep 2009 @ 11:20 Well, well, well ... it's been busy summer and the harvest is here. This month (as of today) I'm in the latest issue of Computer Art Projects giving tips on Freelance career and profile my work for advertising sector, features amongst the wealth of talent of likes Deanne Cheuk, NoPattern, Hydro74 and many others. Cover craft courtesy of McFaul houses 98 pages of pure goodness.
Secondly, I gave an interview about my last year's gallery project / experiment Nu Visual Language for Advanced Photoshop magazine. You can find out details about the ins and outs of putting on this elaborate show.

So close, yet not so farcreated on: Sun 06 Sep 2009 @ 12:08 Due to various publishing dates, I'm yet again pushing my Summer update a little bit further, though only a matter or a few days. A dozen of finished projects are eagerly awaited within the Showcase of this site and they are looking amazing. For those reason, here's another peek in the kitchen. About 3sq metres from total of 140sq m done for Incredible FTA and Dreamstar Direct showrooms. Full update online about 18th September.
Til then ... devour the colours!
A Little art trip, Big difference - Brusselscreated on: Sun 06 Sep 2009 @ 11:59 I'm a little bit late on this post, for obvious workaholic reasons, but here we go. It was my pleasure to be invited to take part in one day trip to Brussels with We Are Social, courtesy of Eurostar. A dozen of design bloggers have set off from London to Brussels to discover not only the beauty of the Belgium capital, but also the real meaning of 'Little Break, Big Difference'. Needless to say, good time was had by all attendees and indeed, it made a huge diference. Taking a day out of a busy schedule prove to be refreshing and inspiring at the same time.
Check out the Flickr page and Youtube video. Many thanks to Sarah for making this happen. More info:
Simplant with 3 men & Suitcreated on: Sun 06 Sep 2009 @ 11:46 A few weeks ago, I've worked with the my fellow designers from Southampton, the creative machine of name 3 men & a Suit. The project for Belgian company Simplant entailed a trio of digital illustrations from their photoshoot. It was fun to do things slightly different, once again.
